Objective training: Heeling

Stand

Walk around

1.Heeling - Normal, Fast, Slow

Dog will be at your side heeling at a normal walk, for fast you will pick up the pace, and for slow you will walk like you are strooling in the park.


2. Stand

From a sitting postion have the dog stand


3. Walk around dog while dog is sitting or down

Dog will either be at a sit or down posititon as you walk around them


4. Right and Left turns

Make a 90 degree turn to the left or 90 degree right


5. About turn

You and the dog will do a 180 degree turn either to your right or left.


6. Halt

While heeling the handler will halt and the dog will then sit in the heel postion (Stationary)

360 degree turn - Left or Right -

While heeling, the dog and handler make a right 360 degree turn either left or right.

 

7. Figure 8 (around cones)

Handler and dog will start off going thru the middle of the cones, then either right or left go around one cone cross the center to the other cone and go arund that cone for the figure 8

Call Front - Finish Right - Move Forward -

While heeling, the handler stops forwad motion and calls the dog to front. The hanlder make several steps backward. The dog must come and sit in front of handler. Withut moving the handler their fee, the dog must finish to the right. Once the dog clears handler's path, the handler will heel forward before the dog returns to heel postion.

 

8. Moving side step right -

While heeling the handler takes one step to the right, leading with the right foot, and continues heeling along the newly established line. The dog must move with the handler.
